Our Aims and Values

We are aware that juggling a career and a family is never easy, therefore we are committed to supporting our parent/carer responsibilities, to enable them go to work knowing their children are happy, safe and having fun while learning and developing into confident little people.

 Our aims:
• To work in partnership with our parents and the local community, enabling parents/carers and children to feel valued members of the nursery.

• We aim to care for our children in a calm, caring, safe, loving environment. Where they can grow and develop into caring young people.

 • To enable our parents to work with the knowledge that their children are learning in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

• To work within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Standards, to ensure that we have equality of opportunity for all children in our care.

How we will achieve this

Our nursery provides a wide range of experiences and activities that support and challenge children’s learning, within the Early Years Foundation Stage learning framework. Each child has an individual learning journal, and activities and experiences are personal to each child.

Our team build strong relationships with the children, and their parent/carers, by engaging with them through our nursery daybooks, parent meetings and settling sessions. We recognise that parents/carers are the primary source of information on their children, who they are, and how they learn.

We self-evaluate in the nursery to ensure that we’re always providing excellent, quality care and education, and welcome parents/carers views.

We ensure that we have safe and robust policies and procedures and practices that all staff are aware of, and adhere to, ensure that the children are aware of safety, and parents/carers are aware of our safeguarding policy and procedures.

We promote healthy eating in the nursery and have a choice of healthy meals and snacks. We cater to most dietary requirements in the nursery.

Our nursery supports breastfeeding and can offer support and advice on this. Parents are welcome to breastfeed their child throughout the day, whenever they wish.

Our nursery is a part of the local childcare network and have links with other nurseries and childcare services including Wandsworth Early Years, NDNA, SALT (speech and language therapy).

We have regular health and safety checks and audits. Fire safety and risk assessments are made to ensure a high standard of childcare is always given.
